Weekly Goalz

So I took a 2 day break from blogging I didn't feel like it. But just because I got "lazy" blogging doesn't mean I got lazy in real life. HA!

So lets recap last week goals and let see how I did.

Last week goals:

Remember I was aiming low... LOL

Children - Spend solo time with my 2 year old  just mommy and I. Going to be taking my little man out shopping with me. Guess at my age I love 2 year old, he's funny and I don't really know what to expect from him sometimes. Not how I had it planned since I came down with a horrible headache for two days. I did spend time with him but not what I had in mind.

Meal planning- Starting this back up again. My family agreed that they enjoy this very much. It saves time and money. My menu starts on Saturdays because I say so. This is going great this week. We are switching things around because we love to have soup when it snows and since we are getting snow today ( so they say...) soup will be moved to today.

Routine - I have to get a routine going here at my home. I don't know where I lost this and it needs to come back.  When did my two year old goes to bed at 10pm? When did this happen? I don't even have a laundry day schedule? I must get back to having a routine going for my own sanity. Yay for routines. Breakfast for the children before 9 am, waking up early though I have been slacking and waking up before 7am (shame on me!). Must admit is good to have a routine set. I just have to improve a bit more. :)

Date Night - Because I was working my FIANCE and I didn't do anything for Valentine's Day. I have some gift cards available for Olive Garden. Guess where we are going? Yeah, Olive Garden. This did not happen at all. We might try it again this week.

Friends - Going spend sometime with one of the coolest friend ever and she has convinced me to attend a Zumba with our friends. I think the crew has this idea that just because I am Latina I can Zumba like a professional. They are just going to have a rude awakening. This did not happen  because of my fantastic headache. :(

Now you know that I'm not perfect... LOL

Lets try this week goals. Keep in mind that my goals starts on Saturday. I follow my old jobs week. :P

This week goals (03/02/2013 to 03/08/2013):

So I aimed low and took a 2 day break because I was feeling lazy. In reality I took up  excising for about 20 minutes and even decided to start walking again this week. Is still cold but with the right layers and good company the walking feels great. I need to personally lose 20lbs (I lost the baby weight already!) and I need to start adding exercising to my daily routine. Mind you with a 14 yr old, 2 years old, and 3 month old is difficult but manageable.

I have not walked in a while so 2 miles in 40 minutes is eh..

So that being said lets get this goals posted.

Family:
  • Spend one on one time with my kids.
  • Have a date night with my man!

Routines
  • Continue to wake up early and post early in the mornings.- I'm doing pretty good with this. Two days I woke up after 6am which kind of set my routine back a bit.
  • Continue to stick to my routine.- Though I woke up after 6pm a few days this week, I continued to get one with a routine. :)
  • Add 20 minutes exercise to my daily routine.-I started this Sunday with On Demand exercise videos. Monday we went for a 2 mile walk with my teen girl and my FIANCE who are walkers. Doesn't matter how cold it is they just go. I decided to stop using the weather as an excuse and become part of the "walkers" club.
  • Beat 2mi/40minutes walking.-My dream is to run a 5K .. and with this numbers I'm so ready to tackle this. This is average for walk I want to bring this number to 2miles/30 minutes. Is it possible? We shall see.

Yard Sale:
  • Start planning our first yard sale ever! Research this online this week will be one of my goals.
  • Clean baby's closet and drawers. Not an easy project since I have make sure my two year old is napping before I start this project and have it completed before he wakes up. He seems to love when mommy makes messes.
Books:

I started to read Fifty Shades Freed. I must finish it... I must..

Friends:
I will be getting together with my cousins and friends this week. Hopefully!

So here are my goals that I am working on for this week. I am very excited that I am making progress on this. Yay me!!

What are you goals for this week?

Weekly Goalz

Is that time for my weekly goals... GOALZZZZZZZZZZZ!

Last Week

So I posted last week now that I don't work I want to go back to a normal sleeping routine. Here are the three major goals I wanted to accomplished.

Sleep- I must get my sleeping routine back on track and working night shift just didn't help. I believe my one day off I slept through it last week. I've been up since 2:30am today. This is a ongoing issue but somehow today I managed to wake up at a decent hour.  My baby still doesn't sleep the entire night but is all good. :)

Children - I joked about spending my first day as a SAHM introducing myself to my kids! Let me just tell you that working 2 weeks with 3 days off (night shift) helped me boost my decision to leave my job. I think this morning was the first time in two weeks that I held my baby boy until he fell asleep instead of vice versa.  This goal was priority, though we all laughed about it I felt that I needed my kids to know mommy was home for good.  We spent more time together and trying to the boys to have a nice picture of them together. My two year old doesn't want to have his picture taken with his brother.

Menu planning - I have not gone shopping since I started work. I thank my FIANCE for taking over that department. He doesn't cook so I can imagine what they are eating. :) Menu planning helped me out greatly and it also helped me saved alot of time and money.  Well this was an epic fail. I didn't sit down and plan my meals last week. Instead I opened the fridge and freezer and went with it. I also went shopping and stocked up on cereal thanks to Target and  Weis. Maybe it was not an epic fail but the kids were not sure what we were going to have for dinner until dinner was serve.

As far as my book reading went, I skipped Fifty and went for Wimpy! The sad part, I still have not finished that book either. I will finish at least one book this week. I'm still trying to get myself into a routine. During my quiet time I tend to take a siesta.

This week goals:

I'm going to try to keep my weekly goals simple again. Aim low... very low.. haha.

Children - Spend solo time with my 2 year old  just mommy and I. Going to be taking my little man out shopping with me. Guess at my age I love 2 year old, he's funny and I don't really know what to expect from him sometimes.

Meal planning- Starting this back up again. My family agreed that they enjoy this very much. It saves time and money. My menu starts on Saturdays because I say so.

Routine - I have to get a routine going here at my home. I don't know where I lost this and it needs to come back.  When did my two year old goes to bed at 10pm? When did this happen? I don't even have a laundry day schedule? I must get back to having a routine going for my own sanity.

Date Night - Because I was working my FIANCE and I didn't do anything for Valentine's Day. I have some gift cards available for Olive Garden. Guess where we are going? Yeah, Olive Garden.

Friends - Going spend sometime with one of the coolest friend ever and she has convinced me to attend a Zumba with our friends. I think the crew has this idea that just because I am Latina I can Zumba like a professional. They are just going to have a rude awakening.

Ok, I think I have set my goals pretty damn low. So you know, chores like cooking, cleaning,  etc I will not be writing down as goals for the week. I think we all know that this is something we all have to do. I will only add them if I have a special project. For example, removing my baby's newborn clothing from the closet and storing them away. ( I don't recall my baby ever fitting in newborn size, but whatever.) Now that's a project I have to attack since I'm planning on having a yard sale this spring and donating some.

What' are you goals for the week? Did you aim low for yours or high?

Weeky Simply Goal

 photo 9cfa9974-0dd4-424e-991f-7e8a1f2601bf_zpsfc5c111d.jpg

I'm all about setting goals and seeing how many I can accomplished. Weekly goals, daily goals, monthly goals, etc I'm all for it! I have improved in getting them accomplished but not as much as I would like. Since Tuesday morning was my last day working grueling 12.5 plus hour shifts I will try and make this week's goals simple. I'm going to start posting my goals here for my friends and family to view them and maybe they can join me. That way I am more determined to get them done and I won't hear their mouth when I epically fail.

Sleep- I must get my sleeping routine back on track and working night shift just didn't help. I believe my one day off I slept through it last week. I've been up since 2:30am today.

Books I Will Read This Week... or try...

Now that I am a stay at home mom ( I can't still believe it!) I am planning on taking time to read some books.

I do love reading books but once a book gets a bit too boring/predictable for me it takes me forever to read. If you have been following my blog you would know that I started reading Fifty Shade Trilogy last summer and joined a book club and all. Something I did NOT mention was that I never finished the last book, Fifty Shades Freed. Why? I hated it. I said it.  As I read the book I started to think Grey was a major pussy!

This week I will finish this book. I have to. I can't go on to another without finishing this book. I'm half way there this will take me a few days. I know I don't know what's wrong with me. I just didn't fall what happen to me. I just think these book reminded me of an X rated version of Twilight.

After I finish this book, I am so turning this around and going another direction. I am going to start reading Diary of a Whimy Kid - The Third Wheel. Yup, I love the books though I have not seen any of the movies I love reading the books. Is something my daughter and I enjoy. This cracks me up from Fifty to Whipy!

I'll keep you post it!

What book do you recommend I read. I do not like scary books!

I DID IT! - Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls

I've been trying new recipes here and there and since I shall be returning to work full time next week I decided to make this Bread Machine Cinnamon Roll. Just in case I don't have time in the near future. Beside, why wait for my awesome neighbor to make it for us once a year when I can do diz!!!! This recipe was simple and easy to make. Well at least it  sounded that way ;)

Friday I woke up feeling horrible and I knew it was my turn for this stupid cold to attack me since my FIANCE and kids were recovering from it. So before I got it bad, I decided to bake brownies and Bread Machine Cinnamon Roll. Did I tell you that my FIANCE (love that word!) gave me a bread machine for Christmas among other things to shut me up. Now you know!

So thanks to Crystal I created my first ever Cinnamon Roll. The above picture was taken by me and it came out blurry as heck. I will blame the my cellphone or my teary eyes.

I have to say I love this recipe and I did double the filling because I felt it needed more.  For a beginner like myself,  the recipe was easy and simple to follow. My rolls were a bit smaller than what I wanted them to be. I have to practice on making the "roll" bigger I guess. They came out cute and tasted great! My family thought I was the coolest thing ever! ;)

As a newbie, this recipe was simple and it tasted delicious. My entire family loved it, the kitchen was intact, and nothing burned.

Like my 2 year old says, "I DID IT!"

 Thank you Crystal!

I Said YES!!!! Now What?

I said YES! If you need to catch up to my stories leading to our engagement click here and then here.

I said YES. I will marry you!!! Came home shared this special moment with family and friends (they all knew about it before me). Ran to the pc and changed my relationship status in Facebook from "in a relations ship with" to "Engaged." Why call everyone when Facebook makes it easy for us to announce it to the world and is free!

It would be nice if my Fiance will activate his damn Facebook account so I look like I'm engaged to someone. See picture below.
After many "GRATZ!" and "WOW" and "About f!@# time!" the next question that followed was "Did you decided on a date yet?"

The answer was um no. We honestly didn't know we had to set a date right away after I said YES or were we? Who sets this rules we want to know please. Where, how, what's next? Really, what's next? Where do I begin?

We decided that we will get married soon. When is soon? Fiance wanted Fall or Winter. At the end we decided Spring 2014, we have medical bills to pay and a car to pay off. This will give us time to do it right and most importantly time to plan it right. Did I mention I'm Puerto Rican and he is Greek? We have alot of planning to do.

So the wedding date is May 2014 that's a start to our planning. We have been doing research and found some helpful checklists online to begin our wedding planning. In a few weeks we should be getting our teeth whitening for our engagement picture according to one wedding planning checklist.

Jokes aside, I am excited but for a few seconds there I felt a bit overwhelmed. I never done this before. Where do I begin, budget, planning, UGH!!! I'm a good planner when it comes to my job and that's because I get paid for it. This is completely different because this is a special event in our lives and a one time event. I don't want to mess this up.I know we will be OK and our wedding will super special. We just have to laugh at our mistakes and learn from there. Right?! >.>

Till next time.

Happy Birthday Parte Dos

happybirthday parte dos photo happybirthdaypartedos_zps2e40f449.jpg

If you missed the first part of this post check it out here.

Ok so we left off when "BF" asked/told me we were going out to dinner.

Another clue something was “weird,” “BF” was getting dressed, not in jeans but dress pants nice sexy blue shirt and dress shoes. BF is on handsome Greek God.

WHAT!?! So I dressed up too even though he told me not to dressed up if I didn’t want. Right!

At the restaurant (which by the way I chose because we had a giftcard we never used), the "weird" acting continued specially toward the end of our dinner. Conversation was limited as he seemed very distracted and was not listening to what I was saying. He complained that he's stomach was hurting and could not finish his dinner. This is from someone who loves steak! So I sat there and got worried, maybe this was the reason why he was acting "weird" but since it was my birthday he wanted to do something for me. “BF” is selfless like that so it wouldn’t surprise me if he was actually sick but wanted to my day special.

I felt bad for him and asked for a box to take the rest of my dinner home. My "BF" excused himself from the table to go to the bathroom. I thought he was going to tell the staff it was my birthday and have them come around the table to sing me happy birthday. Mind you, I have told him and my family that I really, really dislike that. I was thinking this guy is going to get killed when he gets home for embarrassing me.

He came back from the "bathroom" and I asked if he was ok, like he answered before, he said yes. Three minutes later, the manager came out with a cute ice cream and a nice size candle to wish me a happy birthday and left. Nothing big, nothing embarrassing. I enjoyed my delicious dessert and BF stilled looked like he wanted to pass out.

As I walked outside, my "BF" calls me back to the restaurant because he had something else to give me and he didn't want to give it to me outside since it was dark for me to read.
Like a good girl, I head to the vestibule of the restaurant where he handed me a birthday card. The card was beautiful and he wrote how he loves me forever and wants to be with me forever.

After I read the beautiful card and turned to him, he interrupted me by saying, "I am going sick all doing trying to figure out how to do this without you embarrassing you!"
I looked at him like he was really going "weird" and he got down to his knee and brings out this black box from his pocket. "Would you marry me?" Right there, in the vestibule with people watching us.

My reply: OMG! OMG! Get up! and YES!

We hugged, we kissed right there in the vestibule.

WOW! Just simply WOW! Doesn't matter what age you are, being proposed to is really something amazing. The man I love, my soulmate, father of my children (we did things backwards), after all this years, he got down on his knee and proposed to me!!!

The ring, was a simple band with diamonds. Why not traditional engagement ring? We are not traditional, if you caught on to that. He knows I love simple. He said he thought about it and decided he wanted to give me something I would love.

If you read this blog or know us, we are frugal and money-savers. How did I not caught on to this and how did he managed to pay for this.

Well my FIANCE (from “BF” to FIANCE) sold things he didn't need, did computer work on the side. All that to get me a simple ring that I will always love. Just for that I love, love him even more! I would not change anything about this day. It was perfect, vestibule and all! He was stressing all day because he what if no was my answer. During the drive home I answered him by saying that if I said no he would of left my behind in the restaurant since he had the key.

Of course after all this, my stupid cellphone was dead. I couldn’t tell my close friends what was the reason to the “weirdness.”  My whole entire family knew about this and were waiting for us.

This day was amazing and a new chapter in my life that I wanted to share with all of you. My good amigas who put up with me all day trying to figure out what was going on and all.

Thank you. Muchas gracias!

Happy Birthday Part 1

happy birthday

January 14th was my birthday and to my surprise my wonderful man had a fantastic day planned ahead for me. I know this was hard for him since I always tend to plan my day and know exactly what I am doing. Being that it was my birthday and he planned something special for me I figured I give in and go for the ride.

My day started after our boys went down for a nap. I dressed in jeans and a sweater and headed out to the nail spa, courtesy of my “BF.” This was an awesome surprise from “BF” since I had talked about wanting at LEAST a pedicure sometime soon. He sure listened (mmhhmm) and gave me a nice gift card to a nail spa. After getting a nice pedicure and manicure I headed out the the mall to check out some sales and to spend some alone time.  WRONG!! I went to the mall because I needed to figure out what was wrong with my “BF.”  I needed my girls' advice on this matter and I saw these cute tops for work that were on sale that I wanted to check out too!

Anyway back to why I thought something was wrong with my “BF.” Here’s the breakdown:

  • For starter, my fantastic "BF" woke up mighty early for the first time in, I can't even remember. This was also without an alarm or me screaming to wake up or pouring cold water on him.
  • Second, he got dressed, not just dressed but in shorts, is January and we live in PA.
  •  He continued to leave the room, come back, leave again. Stared at me and leave again now that is weird!
  • This simple gesture of giving me a nail spa gift card was followed by “when you leaving?” He basically told me to get out. I reminded him that the nail spa was not open. It opened at 10am and it was 8:30am.
So I left right after our boys went down for their nap not because I wanted to go get my nails done, but because if not I had a feeling I was going to be drag out of the house!

After spending a couple of hours away and not finding a solution to his “weirdness” I headed home. My friends were not really THAT helpful but "so dying to know" or "is like is happening to me" or my favorite, "find out girl!." Thanks for the help! LOL

Oh yeah back home, I sat down after walking the mall and texting (I was very careful not to walk into the fountain at the mall), my "BF" informed that we were going out to dinner to pick any place I wanted to go. I was so surprised, this is not like him. We normally plan for events like this. But hey, if that's what he had planned for me for my birthday I'm all for it. I'm enjoying this and also will give me time to find out what was wrong with him.

TILL NEXT TIME...

50 Shades Of Blue

Yesterday was very eventful day for me, my great friends gave me a baby shower for Baby Bob. The theme of the the shower was 50 Shades of Blue. LOL My friends are convinced 50 had something to do with Baby Bob, or so they claim. There was different blues all over. It was simple and beautiful and I loved it.
The cake was beautiful (notice the tie!!) and delicious. The games were fun and we laughed so much

Overall, I love this small showers with great friends. It was simple and beautiful and I love you all for it. Thank you friends. I can not thank you enough. :)

RL Busy Busy Busy!

I'm sorry for not posting but RL has been extremely busy for us. First, let me start by saying that I am now working 5 days instead of my normal 3 days on/3 days off  work rotation.

At first, I thought it was going to be so easy for me and my family, NOT! Not only does it take me longer to get to work and come home because you see I forgot about this thing called rush hour.

I spent more gas than ever! This going back and forth more days took a nice toll on my gas budget.

Two days off, some much stuff to do! With just two days off (weekends only) I had to cramp everything. Mind you doctor's appointments were scheduled during the week which I had work longer hours at work. No naps, routine was just a messed. I also was doing more laundry than normal!  By the time I got home I was exhausted to do anything (mind you pregnancy is not helping).

Guess working "normal" hours (though I never left on time) was not for me. I rather work my long shifts for 3 days and enjoy my 3 days off. Five days of waking extremely early to waking only 3 days early. Less money spending on gas, less time on the road, more time with the family vs missing practices and DR appointments. Which one would you pick?!?!

I did keep up with freebies and coupons and shopping so that was a good thing. Though I hate shopping during the weekend!

Did you miss me? LOL

Sorry I have been missing...

Today is my daughter's 14th birthday. For her birthday, she wanted to spend the day at Hershey Park. My mom, of course, granted that wish. So my birthday gurl, my mom, and my fantastic man are spending the day at the park while I stay home with our two year old and cook and bake.

Let me tell you I much I appreciate having them around to help me. Today just the two of us was a bit challenging. Trying to clean, bake, cook and entertaining a hyper two year old.

I want to wish my girl, my favorite teenager, a Happy Birthday! I am so proud of you and will always will. You are a blessing to my life and others. I hope you get home from the park soon so you can eat your dinner!! LOL

I love you!
